Alvor Triples Tournament 2023
The draw for Triples Tournament which runs from 25th to 29th of September has been made as shown below.
The tournament is fully subscribed and we are looking forward to some good bowling
Club Finals 2021
On this Thursday and Friday the 1st and 2nd of July, we will be hosting the club competitions’ finals.
There will be 9 finals to be played, loads of great matches to watch, prizes and ending with another delicious dinner (which can be booked with us)!
Everyone is welcomed to watch, so come and support the Club :)
Aussie Pairs at the Club
Every monday 5pm start from the 24th of May until the 28th of June, we are hosting an Australian Pairs League at the club, with our players. We are also serving hot dishes after the games are finished.
Come and join us in this friendly competition :)
We are back!
Hello everyone. As most of you know, the pandemic restrictions have been lifted in Portimão, so all our bowling activities are resumed. Come visit us and let’s play bowls in the lovely Algarve sunshine.
Covid-19 notice
The Club committee has opened the green to controlled sessions of bowling. Systems are place to ensure we comply with Government guidelines.
All sessions must be booked in advance and social distancing must be adhered to.

2020 Alvor Crown Green Doubles Tournament
Alvor Bowls Club ran its annual Crown Green Doubles Tournament from 4th to 6th November despite the problems faced by some of its regular participants travelling from the UK due to Covid restrictions. 20 bowlers from across The Algarve and the UK competed in the drawn doubles competition in which a high standard of bowling was on display. Partners were drawn on a daily basis who then played in group round robin matches to determine the daily leader board. The overall winner of the Tournament was Lorraine Hirst (Huddersfield) with Janette O’Neill (Porches) taking second place. The 2021 Tournament will run from 1st to 5th November with a prize fund of 1500€ and entry details are on the Club website.
Christmas Festivities!
On Wednesday 9th December we will be hosting our Celebration Cup!
We would like to have a Christmas game, dress-up is optional but as festive as you like. We are going to have a triples target game as a bit of fun, and raffle tickets will be on sale the week before for fantastic not to be missed prizes.
We are planning on following that up with a lunch at Emma's Oasis Park which will include, mulled wine and canapes on arrival couvert, starter, main, dessert, wine soft drinks beer and coffee for 23euros.
